What makes Dreamseeds Soap so Special?
A whole lotta love and healing intention goes into my work.
Infusing oils with herbs is a process that takes time.
Herbal infusions are brewed to fit accordingly with the desired outcome.
Everything must be strained and labeled and used in its perfect time.

I use organic extra virgin olive oil as the majority of my soap oils, so that the moisturizing benefits are clean and pure.
I add coconut and palm oils for lather and hardness, then avocado oil and fair trade organic shea butter to accelerate the moisturizing qualities of the soap.
Tussah Silk is eco friendly and in most of our soap bars.
This silk is gathered from wild caterpillars cocoons after they have abandoned them. It is soft and simply dreamy.

The essential oils we use are the highest quality we can obtain . Organic when we can!  I strive to enhance the bathing experience emotionally with essential oils and their energy and power.
I also make soap without essential oils. Avena is one example of a wonderful soap with no added essential oils.

My main objective is to create a good cleaning soap, while conditioning the body and enhancing the emotional experience at the same time.
You would be surprised how a simple bar of soap can get your mood right, or jump start your day.

Why do you call yourself a soap artisan?

Well, simply, I create soap as I am inspired, much like drawing, painting or writing a song. There are a few soap blends that I am so satisfied with, nothing will ever change.
Mother Earth, for example. I love that perfect combo. Bloom is another.

However, some of the soap I create will change from time to time as I am sensing it needs a little something different this time.
Why this is, I can not explain, but that is how my work is fulfilled.

Also, since I am an herbalist, I use plants in many of my creations. As we know, plants are living things which often have purpose in differing stages of their growth cycle and can change from year to year. So this alone creates a medium of change for my work each and every season.

Why won't you put your work into beautiful packaging?

I am not saying I won't. As a matter of fact sometimes I do for people who want to gift the soap to another.
With soap, it is frustrating to see that everything is peeled away and thrown into the garbage to use the soap bar.
Many times I would receive an email from a customer asking what this wonderful soap was because they forgot.
I began thinking that it was such a waste to have this packaging, when it apparantly served no purpose on average. This was creating more landfill issues that I strive to keep at a minimum in my life.

For other products I make, this has been a difficult decision due to cost.
My goal is to make exceptional goods available to all people. If my cost goes up due to packaging, then there are some people who will not be able to obtain things they need as easily.
I priced out design and printing in 2008 and adding the cost into the goods would have changed things ALOT.

I am still working through this for answers that serve my work and my customers best while supporting the planet.
I am grateful that most people seek after what I do and not always how it looks.
I confess, I notice things with fancy packaging too, and understand the reason behind this question in so many ways.
I am sure this area of Dreamseeds will evolve in the perfect timing.
